Ο άτυχος είχε ιστορικό υπνοβάτη και είχε έρθει στο Φαληράκι για τον γάμο της αδελφής του που τελικά ακυρώθηκε... Κρίμα. Μια πραγματικά ανθρώπινη τραγωδία.

A MAN who fell off a balcony while he was sleep walking died days before his sister’s wedding.

Christopher Peck, 25, had travelled with family and friends to Faliraki on the island of Rhodes, Greece, for the wedding when the accident happened.

On the night of May 20 2007 the group had split for a hen and stag party to celebrate the upcoming wedding.

The men had returned to the Hotel Daniel around 10.30pm where they continued to drink until around 2am.

The women then returned around 3.30am and when Christopher’s wife got in to bed he was already fast asleep.

But around 5.30am the hotel receptionist heard a loud thud and despite an check of the hotel he could not find the cause.

Twenty minutes later on a duty inspection of the grounds he found Christopher lying dead on the floor under his balcony.

Family told police that he had a history of sleep walking when he had been drinking.

The coroner Edward Thomas recorded a verdict of accidental death, adding there was no third party involvement.

He said: “It is more likely than not that the thud heard by the receptionist was Christopher falling from the balcony.

“There is no evidence of third party involvement, it was an accident.

“Sadly sleep walking can be the only explanation of how he died.”

The wedding due to take place was cancelled.

Mr Thomas added: “Even if somebody had gone to him straight away his injuries meant that he still would have died.

“I can’t imagine who terrible this was for you all.

“You are a large family who all get on well and there had been no trouble while you were away and you were looking forward to being happy.”
